Greetings from a newbie
The world of stitching smalls is new to me. I usually stitch large things but have found how fun it is to finish something in a couple days. Talk about instant gratification! I love it!
Anyway, here are 2 pieces I finished last week. I hope you enjoy them -- I certainly enjoyed stitching them.

Joyeux Noël

Designer: Joyeux Noël by De Fil en Aiguille
Threads: DMC
Fabric: 28ct evenweave antique white by M.C.G. Textiles
Start/Finish: 11/13-16/2009
This design featuring a little girl holding a branch of holly is actually part of a bell-pull design, but I thought it would like lovely by itself. There is a companion piece with a little boy holding a bunch of snowdrops. I think I might stitch that design later this month.
Until next time ^____^

My Prize from Becky
Here is a picture of the great contents.
Thanks again, Becky. I can't wait to stitch some of these charts.
2 ornaments to show off

I am starting my ornament making, for some they started months ago and even in October so I am a little behind compared to some but I got off to a good start this weekend. The first one is called Pere Noel and the second one is called Continental Christmas. I got both of these patterns from a cross stitched book that I checked out of the library. I have a long way to go still I have at least 30 more to do. Most of them are of the same thing and seeing as I have many more to go I am keeping them simple because I don't have that much time! I have to admit I love the Pere Noel I want to make one for myself next month when I have time!

French holly

Designer: French Holly, De Fil en Aiguille
Threads: DMC
Fabric: 28ct evenweave antique white by M.C.G. Textiles
Start/Finish: 11-4-2009
I love the simplicity of this design with the added elegance of the French knots on the branches. I am currently stitching another design from the De Fil en Aiguille magazine. I hope to be finished with it tomorrow. I would have been further along with it today, but I miscounted my stitches and had to pull them out and start again on the lettering :*(

Ange aux roses

Design: Ange aux roses by Valerie Lejeune
Thread: GAST Midnight and Raspberry Parfait
Fabric: 32ct cream Belfast
Start/Finish: 11/1-2/2009
What do you think? I'm second guessing my color choices. I like the raspberry parfait color, but I think I should have chosen a light blue for the angel.
I'll probably stitch up one more of these designs, but I think I'll go with gold and burgundy. I am stitching these little angel designs for one of my aunts who wants an angel for Christmas.
Until next time ^____^

I started stitching this angel earlier today after I got some laundry and other housework done.

Design: Ange aux roses by Valerie Lejeune
Thread: GAST Midnight
Fabric: 32ct cream Belfast
Start: 11-1-09
I bought this book earlier in the year, but haven't had a chance to stitch anything out of it until now with the holidays coming up.
Hopefully, I'll be able to finish this design by tomorrow with pics to share! *fingers crossed*

Wrapping Up Halloween

Here are the rest of my stitched pieces for Halloween. Alas, they are not finished, but I wanted to show what I stitched anyway. I will work on the finishing as soon as the mood strikes me. I have had a couple of baby gifts to knit and am just about finished. Good thing, too. One of the baby showers is tomorrow! The Christmas mood hit me this week and I have started my list of things to make. I love this time of year! Happy Halloween everyone =)
Last day to post your Autumnal/Halloween Smalls...
I will be drawing a name (actually my DD will draw a name) on Nov. 1, 2009 for a prize.
I will be posting a NEW Christmas/Winter Challenge on Nov. 1, 2009 :) So until then, keep posting your Autumnal/Halloween Smalls :)
I am stitching-but unfortunately it is not on smalls at the moment, so I haven't got anything to share. I did stitch a Halloween ornament as a personal exchange -but forgot to take a pic-when Paula can send me a pic, I will share it here :)
Keep stitching and sharing :)

Happy Halloween!

Hi all,
I am submitting my last post for this group I have 2 finishes I was hoping to have 3 but time got away from me! It happens. I made another Lizzy Kate if the broom fits because the first one I made a friend had seen it and liked it a lot so I gave it to her and finally stitched myself a new one. The other one is called Candy Corn by the Sunflower Seed. I have had a lot of fun with this group and I look forward to joining the next one that starts on November 1. Have a great day today and I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Finally, some glamour shots!

The above photos are of the four Halloween exchanges I participated in. I apologize that the photos are of the whole package but I was not feeling well at the time and nearly didn't even bother to take the pictures. There will be more photos in the next couple of days. I have stitched a few smalls for myself but still need to do the finishing on them.Have a great day!

Another finish!

Hi ladies,
I have been winding down on my Halloween stitching. Can you believe next week is Halloween already? Where did the time go? I finished up this piece this week it is called Happy Hauntings. I got this pattern from a book that I checked out of my local library called Happy Holidays in cross stitch. I think I am only going to do 2 or 1 more Halloween pieces before I call it quits and start picking up the Christmas stitching. I have many gifts to make this year and I need to get cracking as I seem to have fallen behind! Have a good week and everyone keep up the beautiful stitching I love to see everyone's work!

This darling is from a BBD YahooGroups Stocking Exchange. This is actually my very first stocking stitched and finished. This darling floss keeper is from the LHN/CCN Exchange blog. My partner for the exchange adores sheep and her favorite color is light blue. The floss keeper is back with fabby shown in the background.

Design: A Very Merry Autumn by JBW Designs
Threads: DMC 720 and 741
Fabric: 28ct cream Zweigart
Start/Finished: 10/9-10/2009

What do you think? I wish I had made the seam allowance a bit wider so that you could see the bottom edge of the design, but I think it turned out well since it's my first attempt at this finish ;) My blind stitching is still 'below average,' but I hope to get better at it with more finishes that call for it!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Until next time ^_____^

Two Finishes
Finally pics of my finished pieces

I have finished stitching these a bit ago but got sidetracked as to finishing them off. I did 2 Lizzy Kate pieces that are called Don't Bug Me and If the Broom fits. the little pillow with the witch flying on her broom I am not sure what this pattern is called actually because I lost the pattern to this. It is an older one though that because I remember picking this pattern up at the Goodwill 5 years ago. and then I did a little fall scenery that came from a pattern book called Thru the Season by Sandi Gore Evans. I notice that a lot of ladies here stitch on linen and evenweave and such. I prefer to use aida to stitch on because it is easy on my eyes they tend to give me a hard time at times. I am not sure if I will be posting too many more finishes here because I have a lot coming up and I need to get my Christmas stitching in as well. Thanks for all the comments, I feel privileged that I am among so many talented stitchers!

Spookerella Pillow
Hello everyone,
I have been busy on a few other things but I did have a chance to finish up this freebie I found online. I can't remember where I got this one so if anyone else does please put it in the comments for this post. I finished her off on some of my own orange sherbert hand dyed fabric. Then I made her into a pillow with some Halloweeny fabric and trimed out with some purple canvas style ribbon, pinkish-purple sheer ribbon and a couple of prim heart buttons. I think she came out well!
Have a great day all!

Pumpkin Needleminder
Design: Pumpkin by Prairie Schooler 'Trick or Treat' Designer Series
Threads: DMC 436, 520, and 921
Fabric: 28ct antique white Zweigart
Start/Finished: 9/29/2009 and 10/03/2009
I decided to use the great tutorial on Yuko's blog to make a needleminder from this small design.
Backing fabric for the design!
Orange gingham ribbon around the edges!
This is my first attempt at a needleminder and Yuko's tutorial was easy. I didn't have any double-sided tape so I used some fabric glue around the edges.
Until next time!
Small finish

Hi ladies,
I hope your October so far is going good! I only have 1 finish to post this week. I should not be kicking myself but I am because in the last few weeks I did a lot of small finishes but this week so much has happened at home that has kept me in a bad mood and then to throw a wrench in my plans my father called and said he is coming to town on the 12th. So I have a lot to do to get ready for his visit. He lives in Va. so we only see him so many times a year so with everything going on all of a sudden this week I have lost my mojo for stitching! My finish for this week is a cute and simple finish from a pattern book I got called Thru the seasons by Sandi Gore Evans. It has patterns in it for all seasons, there are some winter ones I want to start on soon as well from this book. I am hoping to post more pics this week of all my cross stitched pieces that I have put the finishing touches on. Before I close I want to say that all the ladies that have posted pics of their finishes this week everything is so wickedly cute! I love them all! I log in every day just to see if someone has posted any posts about what they have been working on.

3 pieces stitched this week

Hi again,
Last week I finished 5 small pieces, there was no way of keeping up with that this week. I however just finished up my third piece this evening. I have been stitching with black so much this week that by last night I was a little batty from working with so much black! I did 2 more Lizzy Kate pieces one is called Don't bug me and the other is if the broom fits. The third piece I am not sure of the designer of the pattern. I have had a copy of this for years of just the pattern. I had purchased this at the goodwill 5 years ago and just now stitched it finally! I probably will just turn these into ornaments I will figure it out tomorrow. I want to do a handful more of smalls before I stop. On the weekend I am going to Micheal's to purchase some fabric to stitch on because I finally got my hands on the Lizzy Kate boo club pattern so I really want to get this stitched before Halloween so I can put it on display. Thanks for looking!

Upcoming Blue Ribbon Designs pattern!

Isn't is lovely? I can't wait for this design to come out! I especially love the squirrels and bunnies ;)
I've been 'trying' to stitch on a JBW design called Autumn Trio, but the linen I had for the project is driving me insane! The texture is rough and consequently my stitching is slow. I think I'm going to go by my LNS tomorrow and pick out some different fabric for it and maybe hunt around for some more Autumn/Halloween themed patterns!
I hope everyone has a great Friday!

Here is my latest Stitchwiz Design I call it Fall O' Your Heart. It features a cheerful sunflower and one of our favorite little friends the blackbird. Halloween Stitching Plans
I have been busily stitching away on some really cute Halloween ornaments but I can't show any of them because they are a secret. Once they have been received by the special ladies I have stitched them for I will post photos. Until then, here is a photo of my next project, once I have finished the secret stitching. I found this black wreath and pumpkin bell at Michael's last night and just had to get them. I want to make a new Halloween wreath and I think this will be just perfect! The fabric is Autumn Field Lugana from 123Stitch! and the floss is good 'ol DMC except for the black. I am really hoping start this soon =)Have a great day!

Beware The Black Cat!

Here is my latest design. I finished this one up today and I call it, "Beware the black cat crossing your path!" Obviously the pumpkin has heard the story and looks a little worried! I did this on the 18ct fiddlers cloth with dmc floss. I stitched an uneven blanket stitch around the main design (I was thinking of Frankenstein at the time lol). I then wrapped a ribbon around diagonally and topped it off with a double bow and accent button. This could be a pin pillow but I really like it just as a little decorator pillow. It's about 3 1/2" square.
Hope you like it!

Fabric: 28ct evenweave antique white M.C.G. Textiles
Start/Finish: 9/11/2009

Pumpkin Pinkeep!

Design: Alphabet Pumpkin by JBW Designs
Threads: DMC 722, 3012, and Crescent Color Old Oak Tree
Fabric: 28ct cream cashel Zweigart
Start/Finish: 9/1/2009

Backing fabric!

Ribbon and pumpkin pin!
I got my aunt to help with the bow on top of the pinkeep. I added a pumpkin pin in the middle of the bow.
I made the pins last weekend from orange and green fimo clay! I got the idea while I was thinking of ways to finish this pattern.
Until next time!
